You will be in two different Book Clubs during the year. You will be expected to keep pace with the reading and the responding assignments. But maybe the most important thing is to talk to each other about your thoughts, questions and connections. You will grow by sharing, and by listening to others in your group. November 26 - 30: Assignment #7 December 3 - 7: Assignment #8 December 10 - 14: Assignment #9 December 17 - 21: Assignment #10 ....And we are finished with our first Book Club!
Of course, you will want to read your independent book EVERY DAY! If the book doesn't make you want to read it, you have the wrong book. Remember, you are an individual, and you may not enjoy the same books that someone else enjoys.
Next, you'll need to read different genres. Be bold; try an historical fiction, or poetry, or informational text. There's a whole world of fascinating books just waiting for you.
